To avoid stains and bacteria, it is important that you wash your cutting board immediately after each use. Wash with warm water and detergent, rinse and dry immediately. Do not soak in water! As with all wood products, proper conditioning is needed to maintain the wood’s natural beauty and surface retention. We recommend periodically conditioning your wood cutting board with food safe mineral oil; monthly or perhaps more often depending on your use. Follow directions of the mineral oil manufacturer. White vinegar is a safe and excellent disinfectant for salmonella, E.coli and other bacteria that can be present in your kitchen. To disinfect your cutting board, spray an even coating of white vinegar on your board and allow to sit for 2-3 minutes. Wipe off with a clean damp cloth.
